Yijing
Study Center
The
Center is established to promote Chinese culture and to provide a place to share
and exchange our ideas,
experiences, and expertise in Yi-Jing research and study.
It also provides a place for us to meet with colleagues and friends
through Yi-Jing.
Yi-Jing
Study Center (“Duo Cheng Yi Xue Hui”) translated literally, ”Duo Cheng”
means “much success”; “Yi Xue
Hui” means “can be learned easily”. Therefore,
It is not really a research center. Members’
age could range from three till whatever; likewise
their educational background.
As
the first step in learning Yi-Jing we will begin with “Jing Zuo” (the
practice of sitting motionless – a form of physical regimen) in order to
achieve spiritual and bodily balance. Easy
to learn is what we publicize. Reaching
all and promoting it are our objectives.
If a theory or a school of thought cannot be put into practice and it is
only great on paper, it is useless and of no value to us.
Our purposes are to let people have a real experience of the benefits of
Yi-Jing, and understand what they learn can really put to use.
We also want people to know it is not a theory only to be put away, or
only used in practising divination or fortune telling, nor is it simply a boring
theory. We believe Yi-Jing can be
applied in our daily life. It is
similar to how “Shang Han Lun” (Discussion on Typhus) provides the
guidelines for Traditional Chinese Medicine, how “Sun Zi Bing Fa” (The Art
of War – the military strategies of Sun Zi)
influences politics and military, or what value of binary system is to
computer, It possesses a profound meaning of its own.
After
we have attained the psychological and physical balance, our IQ and thinking
process will experience a great leap forward.
What we could not understand before will suddenly be cleared up.
What was once poor judgement before will become great foresight or plan
for the future. What was once a
weak and sick body before will become a healthy one like a new born.
At such time if we could be guided to learning Yi-Jing theory at its
higher level, we could easily reach the next level.
There is no need to confine ourselves in library for a long period of
time, nor is it necessary to drown ourselves in the ancient rigmarole writings.
Why wouldn’t we learn it then?
We
welcome promoters of Traditional
Chinese Culture, professionals in
medical fields, professionals in high-tec fields,
investors and people who work in finance and money market fields,
Yi-Jing enthusiasts, Yi-Jing researchers, and anyone who wishes to join
us.
Registration
is necessary but free so that we could inform you of any functions, events, or
activities in time. Membership is
not restricted in Toronto only since we are able to communicate, discuss and
study through internet.
Periodically
we will have scheduled and unscheduled symposium and seminars in different parts
of the world for members to exchange their experience and ideas in order to
achieve our goals of developing people’s interest in Yi-Jing and promoting the
Chinese Culture.
For our day to day communication and exchange of experiences and ideas we have a section on our web-site for members to publish their papers, articles, and thesis on Yi-Jing to the world (with no payment for their writings though). All submissions should be typed and proof-read by the authors themselves and E-Mailed to the Center. (Please do not send by attaching it to E-Mails.) Usually, all writings will be published as is. Authors will assume all responsibility.
We
will combine the ancient and contemporary in an organic manner.
