• Purpose:
  • Study the effect of DuoSuccess TCM music therapy on the elderly (84 persons in total whose average age is over 80. Most of them are suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes or heart disease).
• Methods:
  • Use existing music facilities in the Nursing Home and regularly play DuoSuccess TCM online music every day (2 times a day, 1 hour each time). Compare the monthly inpatient and outpatient visits before and after the music therapy.
• Results:
  • Comparing November data with the last corresponding period, outpatient visits decreased by 90% ! [these results were highly statistically significant (p<0.001)]
  • Outpatient visits decreased by 78% and inpatient visits decreased by 50%
    • Outpatient visits:
      • Before music therapy 81.33±22.68
      • After mudic therapy 18.27±8.04
      • The difference was highly statistically significant (p<0.001)
    • Inpatient visits:
      • Before music therapy 15.67±5.51
      • After music therapy 7.73±3.90
      • The difference was statistically significant (p<0.05)
• Conclusion:
  • DuoSuccess TCM music therapy for the elderly has a very significant effect. It is a national treasure indeed.
